This 8-week course meets for 1 hour each week, at the same time on the same evening.
Description
Our NZSL courses aim to prepare learners for effective communication in professional and recreational settings.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Compare various jobs and work conditions, facilitating informed discussions about employment opportunities.

Describe personal qualities and skills required for different work roles, enhancing self-awareness and career planning.

Explain simple instructions for common work-related tasks, ensuring clarity in the workplace.

Demonstrate appropriate ways to interact with Deaf individuals in professional environments, fostering inclusive communication.

Talk about recreation, sports, hobbies, and interests, encouraging engagement in leisure activities.

Discuss, agree, and announce information about leisure activities, promoting collaboration and shared experiences.

Give simple instructions or rules for an activity or game, enhancing group participation and enjoyment.

Explain goals for future activities and skills, including wishlist items and reasons for their importance, to encourage personal growth and motivation.
Prerequisites
A course can proceed only if it receives a minimum number of enrolments.
